Colombo — Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, yesterday held a number of meetings during his official visit to Sri Lanka.
The Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs signed a memorandum of understanding with Professor G L Peiris, Minister of External Affairs related to political talks between the Sultanate and Sri Lanka, at the premises of the Sri Lankan foreign ministry.
The two sides also held talks in the presence of the delegation accompanying Alawi and top officials at the Sri Lankan foreign ministry.
They discussed ways of promoting the Omani-Sri Lankan relations in various aspects, exchange of visits between officials and businessmen with the aim of exploring investment opportunities in both countries.
Meanwhile, the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs also held separate meetings with Susil Premajayantha, the Minister of Petroleum Industries and Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development. — ONA
